This one time....at band camp...

So, with the latest 'vacation' in the books...it has been 'get back to work'...which means some work, some bike, some other stuff (super secret for now...).

Anyways...as far as bike goes, I have been working hard to get rid of the vacation created 'softness'...I blame these people...

The Ontario Touronds

The Full Clan

Mostly I blame my cousin Diana's Caesar creating skills...(spicy beans in Caesar are great!!).

Anyways most of the softness is gone (almost)...thanks to CoachRob whipping my tired self...
Although this is my back now...

CoachRob's mascot???

Anyways...some gym, some adaptive trail running, and many kms on bikes...trying to stay in some kind of form...mainly for this coming up...August 13th...

EB2.0 – Eager Beaver 100

It will be epic!!  It will be brutal!  It will be so much fun!!  160 kms with 6000 feet of climbing literally all in the first 80 kilometers...it is going to be a challenge!  But every climb treats you to an awesome central Ontarian vista (if you can wipe the blood out of your eyes enough to see).  Then the final 80 km is through outdoor eye candy of farm field, wet lands, or forest...mainly on flat gravel roads.

There are also 100km and 50km course options, if you are not up to tackling the 160.

And there will be camping, including showers and bathrooms, on the Friday and Saturday night.  It's going to be a festival of sorts!!

And with sponsors like Pearl Izumi, and Amsterdam Brewery...you know there will be great prizes...and draw prizes.  Oh...and apparently this for the finishers!!

There are more details and even cool videos of some of the race course 'sections' on the SubstanceProjects facebook page...find it by clicking here.  Ya...there...  Ya...back there, on here...

PinoyPedalPushers...you guys gonna be there??  FatboyNation??  Lapdogs??  Actually, no...I would really like it if a lot of people slower than me showed up....there has got to be at least 2 of you out there somewhere...

Anyways....if you have not registered yet...get on it!!  The price actually goes up dramatically at midnight tonight!!  Click on this gratuitous beaver shot for even more details and a link to register....

In the mean time there is a World Cup event happening right here in Canada!!  Mont Sainte Anne, Quebec.  Many local friends are headed up, or already there to watch and take part.  I was hoping to get there, but plans didn't work out.  I will, however be watching it on RedBull TV!!  It will be interesting to see how athletes approach it, with the event being so close to the Olympics.  And so far this season our Canadian athletes have been doing great!!

With Raphael Gagne and Derek Zanstra ranking 39th and 40th respectively, and Emily Batty and Catherine Pendrel ranking 9th and 14th.  Should be a great show!!

I'm not really sure why....but this is one of my favourite pro mtb-er pics....

Maybe it was because I was personally sent that pic???

What???

What does that mean??

Ah...OK then....

Anyways...another important event happening next week is Ontario Summer Games.  Why important??  Because there is a MTB event happening on Thursday and Friday...the 11th and 12th...out at Albion Hills Conservation Area...and we have a local youth team who have qualified and entered!!

Oscar, Ethan, Grant, Jocelyn

Have no doubts...these kids are crazy fast!!  They will stir shite up out there.  If you have raced the Kelso weekly series you have likely raced with them.  If you can...get out and cheer them on!

Details can be found here and here...ya there....doh!!

Apparently, this post is going on too long....

Whaddaya talkin' about!!??  This has been great stuff!!  The EagerBeaver...the World Cup...our Junior team at the Summer Games...Emily sending me a pic(??).  Go get back in yer box!!

Anyways...perhaps...I am now rambling...

OK...Till Tuesday...

Stay posted!!
