Yeah...another Canada Cup...two of them, two weekends in a row this year.
This one, Canada Cup 4, at Hardwood, sponsored by Pulse Racing. Really want to do better than I did last weekend...that shellacking still stings. Was out with CoachRob and his crew, on Tuesday pre-riding, and re-riding sections of the course...and heading out today with Clarkie for more pre-riding practice.
This weeks course looks to be huge fun...with challenging, but rideable obstacles (and reasonable arounds on any potential bone-breakers for my limited skill level). There are climbs, but nothing ridiculous. And Hardwood Ski & Bike is always a great venue.
Yeah, I know, I whined about my performance at last weeks race...and I know...mostly I should just be happy to be on my bike, and competing (I love this sport!!)...and I am...especially after seeing this kid run his bike around last weeks course for two laps...
... and still finish riding out the flat with a smile on his face... Trumps wall won't stop this Mexican...
Anyways...yes...I am happy riding my bike...still....I'm determined to do better than last week. I am OK with coming in last, considering the level of my competition...just want to do it faster than I did last weekend...and maybe have fewer racers lap me...have Ted take some cool pics...and, of course, have Emily cheer me on again...
No, I don't need this....
...but maybe this mirror would come in handy...
So....looking forward to this weekends race!!
About last week...someone asked me an interesting question...about when I popped my finger out of joint...and my wedding band...and it is so true...
My actual wedding band is an almost 5 lb wad of stainless steel...
And I have seriously, almost lost my ring finger because of this ring, during (mostly sport related) mishaps...so I don't wear it regularly. However, I still want the marriage symbol cuz I am quite fond of Lois, so instead the regular wedding band I wear this...
Yeah...I know...I could'a been a hand model...except this is my right hand...
Don't ask...
Anyways...that black thing I'm wearing on my ring finger....is a wedding band, made of silicone...so it stretches...and is easily cuttable if necessary...so if I ever injure that finger the ring can easily come off...rather than the finger...
The rings come in multiple colors, and styles (even glow in the dark). Because she suffers from rather serious Rheumatoid Arthritis Lois can no longer wear her regular wedding rings...so she wears a red one of these. And at about $20 each...its easy to mix it up.
No...I don't get any kick backs, freebies, or anything from this company...they don't even know I am promoting the damn things...just if it helps you to enjoy mountain biking, and maintain family harmony...you can check them out here...
Anyways....back on topic...
The TransAmBikeRace started last weekend...and I really enjoy following the action and how the racers are doing...considering this race is on my bucket list...maybe next year?
