To Albion and Beyond

Whale, apparently a couple of things happened this past weekend.  There was the Great Albion Enduro...the first of what apparently could become a classic since it was so well received by the racers that attended...over 300 took part!!  It was promoted by SuperflyRacing, out at Albion Hills and Palgrave.

ApexRacePhotography was out there to take your pic if you were there.

I did not attend...but what did actually happen out there?  If you say 'She Cause See' fast three times that will about sum it up...

Actually, Team Colin participated in the 40km version of the race...and blogged about it...you can check it out here...

TeamColinBlog

So yes, it turned out to be a great success although it rained most of the day.  Word is the rain did make the rocks and roots a bit slippy....and there were a few crashes.  Kudos to PaulWoj, who races for Rock&Road who apparently crashed hard, then went on to finish...kicking arse in the full 80km!  Yeah...he is that fast...

And no...the Woj in PaulWoj does not stand for Wojohowitz...that would be this guy...

Yeah...you have to be REALLY old to get that one...or really good at Google....go Fish??

Anyways, I can't actually spell PaulWoj's last name...or pronounce it...not sure who can really.

OK...getting off track again...sorry Paul...

"Dad, concentrate on getting the blog done, you goof!!"

OK then!  There was also another race...this one in the US of A...and no I don't mean the political race...which I think eventually someone will say...."Haha...just kidding!!"....no??

No, there was a real race...a classic....The Fools Gold 100.  DanOfSubstance traveled down there to take part in it...and his take on it can be seen somewhere on this page if you scroll around a bit.

TeamDicky, blogger and singlespeeder of great fame also contested this race and wrote about it here.

So...not that this is about me...but just what did I do this last weekend??

Well these folks dragged me around Hardwood Hills for hours....to pre-ride the upcoming 8 Hour race course...and other trails...

We ran into famous people there....

No Zkoking!!

And then on Sunday morning, Jaimie dragged me around the Burlington/Hamilton Bay on gravel and trails for 70 kms or so.  The strava link.

And if that wasn't enough NewfieSteve, dragged me around on the fatbike in the afternoon for another 50 kms or so.  Mo' strava.

And yes...NewfieSteve was doggin' it....just so I could keep up...

See...I can take and include nice pics of bikes, and mtb stuff.  It isn't always cats and stupid things...

Well, that didn't last long...but something has to make up for the writing....

Anyway...I have more mountain biking to do today...while the weather holds.  Still trying to get ready for the Fall 8 Hour race coming up this weekend.  Besides, I have to try out the new gloves Fig got me...

Who knew Fruit of the Loom made mountain bike gear??  I will let you know how they work out!

Till Thursday...

Stay posted!
